Congressman Andy Biggs has urged Congressman Barry Loudermilk, Chairman of the Committee on House Administration's Subcommittee on Oversight, to hold the January 6th Committee accountable for its actions targeting former officials in President Trump's administration. In a letter sent to Loudermilk, Biggs expressed his concerns over the committee's decision to recommend contempt of Congress charges against these officials.
Regarding the situation, Congressman Biggs stated, "The illegitimately constructed and biased January 6th Committee must be held accountable for its pursuit of political opponents." He further emphasized the unfairness of the situation by pointing out the case of Peter Navarro, former Director of the Office of Trade and Manufacturing Policy, who has been ordered to report to prison for refusing to comply with the committee's demands.
Biggs highlighted the need to address what he sees as a two-tiered justice system in the country, stating, "Throwing political opponents behind bars is a cruel move more likely to be seen in communist China and banana republics around the world. We must swiftly bring this practice to an end if we hope to protect our Republic."
In the letter, Congressman Biggs expressed his gratitude to Chairman Loudermilk for his efforts in investigating the January 6th Committee and expressed anticipation for the results of the ongoing inquiry. The letter was cosigned by Rep. Matt Gaetz and Rep. Matt Rosendale.
