Tempe Welcomes Eric C. Anderson as New City Attorney

Tempe City Council announced the appointment of Eric C. Anderson as the new City Attorney during its Regular Council Meeting on March 21, 2024. Anderson, who brings 29 years of legal experience to the role, including 16 years in municipal law with the cities of Scottsdale and Chandler, is set to contribute his expertise in various fields such as real estate, planning and zoning, capital projects, water and wastewater, purchasing, and utilities.

City Manager Rosa Inchausti expressed enthusiasm about Anderson's appointment, stating, "We are pleased to welcome Eric Anderson as its new City Attorney. His nearly 30 years of legal experience will provide valuable insight and legal advice to our community." Anderson, a graduate of Arizona State University's law school and a father of three adult children, is eager to start his new role in the vibrant and forward-thinking city of Tempe. He remarked, "Tempe is an innovative city with big ideas. I am eager to begin representing the community."

Tempe continues to solidify its reputation as a technology and business hub, a welcoming and inclusive community, and a center for recreation and adventure. The city looks forward to benefiting from Anderson's wealth of experience and knowledge as he takes on the responsibilities of City Attorney.
