The City of Tempe recently held its third annual Neighborhood Celebration, where 17 outstanding neighbors, community members, and local businesses were honored for their contributions to the community. The event, which took place at Kiwanis Park, brought together over 300 community members for a day filled with games, live music, and fun activities.

Among the award winners were the Broadmor Bike Bus, Cranksgiving, Oasis Lake, Elie Merheb, Lane Carraway, Jeff Caslake, Sid Frede, and the Tempe Preparatory Academy National Honor Society club. Additionally, individuals and organizations were recognized for their impact on Tempe's arts and culture, sustainability efforts, water conservation, and historic preservation.

Neighborhood Advisory Commission Chair Joel Stern highlighted the significance of the event, stating, "The Tempe Neighborhood Celebration embodies what we should try and accomplish in our individual neighborhood." The celebration aimed to foster a sense of community and appreciation for the efforts made by residents and businesses in enhancing Tempe's quality of life.

Attendees of the event enjoyed local food and beverages, live music by the band Bohemian Insurgence, and had the opportunity to support small businesses and local nonprofits. The awards ceremony was broadcasted on the City of Tempe's Facebook page for those who missed the event, with event photos also available for viewing and download.

The City of Tempe expressed gratitude to Salt River Project for their partnership and contributions to the community event, as well as the presence of local nonprofits such as Bike Saviors, Tempe Bicycle Action Group, and Tempe Community Council. Looking ahead, the city is already anticipating next year's Neighborhood Celebration and encourages residents to stay updated on upcoming events through the tempe.gov/NeighborhoodCelebration website.

The Neighborhood Celebration serves as a platform to recognize and celebrate the individuals and organizations that make a positive impact on the community, fostering a strong and thriving neighborhood in Tempe.
