CHANDLER, Ariz. – The Chandler Public Library is set to launch its highly anticipated Summer Reading Challenge on June 1, inviting readers of all ages to embark on a literary adventure until August 1. Participants are encouraged to log their reading minutes, with just 20 minutes a day propelling them towards earning unique and valuable prizes.

Library Program Manager, Jean Reynolds, expressed her enthusiasm for the program, stating, "The Summer Reading Challenge is one of the most exciting programs we offer at the Chandler Public Library." She emphasized the theme of this year's challenge, "Adventure Begins at Your Library," highlighting the boundless potential of books to ignite the imagination.

Readers can register for the challenge starting May 1 at the Chandler Public Library or their local branch. As they track their reading minutes from June 1 to August 1, participants will have the opportunity to win prizes provided by various local partners, including Arizona State Parks & Trails, Phoenix Mercury, and Harkins Theatres.

In addition to reading, participants can earn extra points by exploring community areas such as the Chandler Nature Center and Aquatic Centers. Each Chandler Public Library location will host a kickoff event where readers can sign up for the program and enjoy engaging entertainment.

A new feature of this year's challenge is a special adult kickoff event featuring local travel author Roger Naylor and Andrew McCreery from d’Vine Gourmet in Chandler, offering insights into Arizona's landscapes and local food and drink production.

Families and individuals seeking free summer activities can also look forward to a variety of adventure-themed programs on the library's event calendar through July 31.

The Summer Reading Challenge is a collaborative effort with Maricopa County Reads and receives support from the Institute of Museum and Library Services. For further details, interested individuals can contact the Chandler Public Library at 480-782-2800 or visit their website.
