The City of Tempe, AZ is gearing up to host a free youth job and volunteer fair this Saturday, May 4, aimed at providing opportunities for individuals between the ages of 14 to 24. The event is a collaboration between the City's College Connect program and ARIZONA@WORK-Maricopa County, offering a platform for young participants to engage with potential employers and organizations.
As per the City of Tempe, the fair will feature representation from over 15 employers across various industries, including ProEm, Kid Zone, Aramark, Burger Rush, Jack in the Box, Tempe Aquatics, Phoenix Zoo/Arizona Center for Nature Conservation, Maricopa County Sheriff's Office, City of Tempe Parks & Recreation, Azorna- Hospice and Palliative Care, AT&T, Consumer Cellular, and more.
Attendees are advised by the City of Tempe to come prepared with a state-issued photo ID, copies of their resume, and dressed professionally. They should also be ready to engage directly with potential employers. Additionally, for those attending a job fair for the first time or seeking better preparedness, a job fair preparation workshop will commence at 9:15 a.m. prior to the main event.
In a statement, the City of Tempe emphasized, "Register now. Walk-ins are also welcome." They further added, "If this is your first time attending a job fair or you would like to be better prepared, there will be a short job fair preparation workshop starting at 9:15 a.m."
The fair is scheduled to take place at the Tempe Union High School District Innovation Center located at 490 W. Guadalupe Road, starting at 10 a.m. and concluding at noon. Interested individuals are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to connect with potential employers and explore volunteer opportunities.
