The City of Tempe, AZ announced the return of the Tempe Time Machine summer program, set to kick off on May 29, 2024. According to the announcement, the program will run every Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. until July 17 at the Tempe History Museum on 809 E. Southern Ave.
The program invites kids and their families to explore the museum's historical objects through crafts, stories, activities, and live demonstrations. No program will be held on June 19 in observance of Juneteenth.
In a statement, the organizers of the program shared, "Join us on a hunt for history! How do you think kids from long ago were different? How were they just like you? Explore the museum’s amazing objects to find out."
The 2024 Tempe Time Machine program will focus on themes inspired by the museum's Main Exhibit Gallery, covering Tempe's history through topics like Surviving in the Desert, Building Our Community, Living Together, and College Town. The programs are free to attend, and registration is not required. Groups of 10 or more are encouraged to call 480-350-5140 to schedule their visit for the best experience.
