Mesa Adaptive Program participants perform in "Madagascar Jr." production

The City of Mesa and Arizona Disabled Sports are collaborating with Red Mountain Theatre to present "Madagascar Jr." at the Red Mountain High School Auditorium, located at 7301 E. Brown Road. The cast includes individuals from the Mesa Adaptive Program with developmental disabilities, supported by theater students from the high school who assist participants with their speaking lines and choreography.

Tickets for the performances can be purchased online for the following dates and times:

- Thursday, June 6 at 7 p.m.

- Friday, June 7 at 7 p.m.

- Saturday, June 8 at 2 p.m.

Advance ticket purchases are recommended for easier entry to the theater. The Adaptive Off-Broadway production promises to engage the audience with its lively performance.

Mesa Adaptive Sports and Recreation provides sports and recreation opportunities for individuals with developmental disabilities, aged six or older, residing in or outside Mesa. Programs typically run weekly for up to 12 weeks per season. The organization's mission is to “Let no one sit on the sidelines.”

Adaptive programs offered include special interest classes, outdoor recreation, social clubs, Off-Broadway productions in partnership with Mesa Public Schools, fashion shows, and adaptive sports such as bocce, soccer, volleyball, and track and field. Training schedules for adaptive sport programs align with competition schedules set by Special Olympics Arizona.
