The City of Mesa’s Community Engagement team is organizing a free "Resident’s Guide to Mesa" class aimed at educating and supporting neighborhood leaders in improving their communities. The session will take place on Tuesday, Aug. 13, from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Mesa City Council Chambers, located at 57 E. First St.
This 90-minute class will provide attendees with an understanding of city government operations and how to engage more actively in decision-making processes. Participants will learn about taking leadership roles beyond their neighborhoods and into the broader community, as well as the significance of serving on city advisory and nonprofit community boards and the appointment process for these positions. Due to limited seating, registration is required.
Additionally, the City's Community Engagement team offers "Resident’s Guide to Homeowners Associations" classes. These free monthly virtual seminars address current topics and laws related to Arizona HOAs and condos. The classes are scheduled on Tuesdays from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.:
- Aug. 20 - What is a Community Association and Secrets of Successful Associations
- Sept. 17 - The ABCs of Enforcement for HOAs and Condos
- Oct. 15 - Legislative Update, Federal Laws and Preventing Crime and Limiting Liability in Community Associations
Residents can find more information and register for these classes online.
