The City of Chandler’s Golden Neighbors program is set to resume for the fall season, beginning with a gardening workshop on Thursday, September 19, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. The free event will take place at Sunset Library, located at 4920 W. Ray Road.

Participants will receive gardening tips and free seeds while learning about the health benefits of gardening, including its potential to alleviate anxiety, stress, and depression. Gardening also promotes exercise, fresh air intake, and a stronger immune system. The session will conclude with an instructor-led painting activity by local artist Reena Patel. Attendees will also receive a complimentary gift.

Chandler residents interested in attending are encouraged to RSVP online at Golden Neighbors or by calling Neighborhood Programs staff at 480-782-4362.

The Golden Neighbors program was established as a free resource to connect Chandler seniors with city services and local partners while fostering community connections. For more information or to make a donation, visit Golden Neighbors.
