Congressman Andy Biggs and Senator Bill Hagerty have called for accountability from the Department of Justice (DOJ) regarding its lack of response to concerns about election integrity. They sent a letter to U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland, questioning why there has been no reply to a previous inquiry made in July about measures taken by the DOJ to protect elections from interference by illegal aliens.

The inquiry followed reports of potential election integrity issues in South Carolina, Georgia, and Ohio. Congressman Biggs and Senator Hagerty are seeking information on whether the DOJ is prosecuting non-citizens who vote or register illegally in federal elections. They also want to know if the DOJ has reached out to election officials in Virginia and Texas regarding aliens removed from voter rolls.

“American citizens must have confidence in the security of our elections,” said Congressman Biggs. “The DOJ’s failure to provide timely answers to our important questions is not acceptable.”

He expressed concern that illegal immigration could affect American voices in elections, noting that “at least 10 million illegal aliens have been released into our country through our porous borders during Joe Biden and Kamala Harris’s Administration.”

Biggs thanked Senator Hagerty for his efforts in the Senate and acknowledged support from colleagues who recognize the importance of oversight.

Several members of Congress co-signed the letter with Biggs and Hagerty, including House Representatives such as Clay Higgins, Andy Harris, Gary Palmer, Matt Rosendale, Ralph Norman, Eli Crane, Andy Ogles, Aaron Bean, Josh Brecheen, Nancy Mace, Bob Good, Eric Burlison, Mike Ezell, Chuck Fleischmann, Tom Tiffany, Lauren Boebert, Claudia Tenney, Michael Guest, Diana Harshbarger, Ben Cline, Chip Roy Barry Loudermilk Mary Miller Paul Gosar Lance Gooden Barry Moore Harriet Hageman Jeff Duncan Mike Collins Tim Burchett Greg Lopez Keith Self Brian Babin Dusty Johnson Randy Weber August Pfluger Rich McCormick Alex Mooney Matt Gaetz.
