The City of Chandler is set to host an installation ceremony on January 9, where three councilmembers will be sworn in. The event will honor OD Harris, Christine Ellis, and Jennifer Hawkins as they begin their four-year terms on the City Council. In addition, a farewell ceremony will acknowledge Mark Stewart for his eight years of service.

The ceremonies are scheduled to start with a reception at 4:30 p.m., followed by the farewell and installation proceedings at 6 p.m. The reception will take place at the Vision Gallery located on the first floor of Chandler City Hall. The swearing-in ceremony will occur inside the City Council Chambers.

Attendees can find free parking available at the City Hall Garage and nearby surface lots.

The new council members, incumbents OD Harris and Christine Ellis along with newly elected Jennifer Hawkins, will join Mayor Kevin Hartke and other councilmembers Matt Orlando, Jane Poston, and Angel Encinas. Mark Stewart is transitioning to his new role as Maricopa County Supervisor starting January 6.

This event marks a historic moment for Chandler as it sees the most women serving concurrently on its City Council with three female members.

The public is invited to attend this significant occasion and are encouraged to RSVP online through chandleraz.gov/Installation.
