Rep. Greg Stanton, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Arizona’s 4th district since 2019, has recently voiced concerns through a series of tweets regarding federal aviation and healthcare policies under the current administration. Born in Long Island, New York, in 1970 and currently residing in Phoenix, Stanton graduated from Marquette University with a BA in 1992 and earned his JD from the University of Arizona in 1995.
On March 4, 2025, Rep. Stanton expressed alarm over the Secretary of Transportation's decision-making concerning air traffic control systems. He stated that "Instead of implementing our bipartisan FAA Reauthorization bill to improve air traffic control systems, Secretary Duffy is allowing DOGE to fire the air traffic control workers who keep our skies safe." He emphasized that this situation should be alarming for those concerned about aviation safety.
The following day on March 5, Rep. Stanton announced his plans to bring Walter Murillo, CEO of Native Health Phoenix (@NativeHealthPHX), as his guest to President Trump's Joint Address. He highlighted that "Native Health has served thousands of patients at their community health centers, and many of those patients rely on Medicaid to pay for their treatment." He also criticized Republican budget cuts affecting Medicaid.
Later on March 5, he commented on workforce reductions within federal agencies by stating: "Here’s who’s gotten caught up in Trump & DOGE’s purge of federal workers: – nurses & therapists at the Phoenix VA – a veteran administering loans to build water infrastructure in rural AZ – air traffic control staff keeping our skies safe" He questioned how these actions are beneficial for public welfare.
