Arizona has introduced HB2115, a new law targeting the sexual exploitation of minors, now making it possible to prosecute individuals who knowingly observe a nude minor for sexual gratification. This crime is classified as a Class 2 felony and a Dangerous Crime Against Children (DCAC) if the victim is under 15 years old. The law also clarifies provisions around child sex dolls and safeguards consensual relationships close in age under existing statutes.

"This law closes a dangerous and sickening loophole," Chairman Nguyen stated. "Anyone who seeks out or watches a nude child for their own sexual gratification is engaging in predatory behavior and should be treated accordingly. Arizona won’t tolerate this. HB2115 gives law enforcement and prosecutors a stronger hand in protecting our kids and putting predators where they belong—behind bars."

The legislation was passed unanimously by both chambers, with a 59-0 vote in the House and a 25-0 vote in the Senate.

Chairman Nguyen and the House Republicans played a crucial role in the passage of HB2115, which aligns with the House Republican Majority Plan. By addressing legal loopholes and enhancing law enforcement capabilities, the legislation underscores Arizona's commitment to public safety and child protection, ensuring the law defends victims rather than offenders.
