Warren Petersen, a Republican elected to the Arizona State Senate in 2023 representing the 14th Senate District, recently used his social media platform to share opinions on federalism, tax policy, and media coverage.

On December 14, 2025, Petersen posted about his participation in a summit focused on federalism with other Senate Presidents from across the country. He wrote, “Arrived to snowy Ohio last night to join Senate Presidents from across the country for a federalism summit.

The Founders envisioned a weak federal government and strong states—labs of democracy, giving people more choices. Instead, we’ve seen massive federal overreach and https://t.co/LzWCHJJVNI“.

Two days later, on December 16, 2025, Petersen commented on tax policy and public perception. He stated, “Tell a lie enough times until people believe it. The truth? These are the Trump tax cuts that the AZ legislature will pass on by conforming to the federal tax laws. https://t.co/gZXnIaBb5r”.

Later that day, he questioned media attention regarding an unspecified issue: “Where is the media on this??? https://t.co/3REYLsOK5S”.

Petersen succeeded David Gowan as state senator for Arizona’s 14th District after winning election in 2023.
