Warren Petersen, a Republican elected to the Arizona State Senate in 2023 to represent the state’s 14th Senate District, posted several updates on his social media account regarding recent events and personal reflections.

On January 13, 2026, Petersen commented on the Supreme Court hearing concerning the Save Women’s Sports Acts. He wrote, “The Supreme Court hearing on the Save Women’s Sports Acts went very well today. While we likely won’t see a ruling until June, the Justices’ comments and questions suggest a 6-3 decision upholding the state laws protecting fairness in girls’ and women’s sports.”

Later that same day, Petersen shared news of a loss within Arizona’s legal community. In his post dated January 13, 2026, he stated, “Today I learned of the sudden passing of former Attorney General Mark Brnovich. I was in complete shock and disbelief—it took time to process this heartbreaking news. He left us far too soon at just 59.
