Town of Gilbert issued the following announcement on July 12.

Gilbert is welcoming seven new firefighters after they graduated from the first firefighter academy at the new Gilbert Public Safety Training Facility.

"I want to welcome Gilbert’s newest firefighters and commend them on their successful completion of the Recruit Training Academy.  They are the first recruits to be trained at the Gilbert Public Safety Training Facility and are now prepared to safely and effectively handle the incidents they will encounter in the community," said Gilbert Fire & Rescue Chief Jim Jobusch.  Congratulations to them all!"

• Paul Cappello
• Jacob Fletcher
• Jayce Golosewski
• Foday Kiawein
• Jonathan Steffen
• Zachary Suprak 

Gilbert Fire & Rescue will host a regional academy this fall, consisting of firefighter recruits for Gilbert and other departments from across the Valley.
