Mesa Public Schools has issued a statement regarding a social media threat circulating on Snapchat, which has raised concerns within several school communities and over 100 schools across Arizona.

"Mesa Public Schools takes all threats seriously and works tirelessly to provide a safe and caring learning environment for our students and staff," said Dr. Andi Fourlis, Superintendent of Mesa Public Schools. The district is collaborating with law enforcement to investigate the matter, which remains ongoing.

The district noted that online threats are becoming more common, often emerging after significant events.

Parents are encouraged to remind their children to report any safety threats they encounter to a trusted adult or contact the Mesa Public Schools Silent Witness Hotline at 480-472-7867. "Together, we can keep our community safe," added Dr. Fourlis.

Thank you for your support and understanding.
