I had the honor of meeting with wonderful people of The H.S. Lopez Family Foundation Center of Opportunity. They embody their beautiful Christian mission of treating people with Dignity and Respect.
My proposed homelessness policy echos that same mission. Currently the state of Arizona, and those experiencing homelessness in it, are in crisis. The current system is structured to enable, not help them.
My plan is a "Services First" approach created to help those on our streets, set them on paths of betterment, and keep our state safe.
That’s often different for each person, and our current Housing First approach is simply not doing enough to address the needs of those who are drug addicted or suffering from extreme mental illnesses.
My approach puts the resources and power of the Governor’s office into the hands of private rescue missions like The Center Of Opportunity to better our communities and transform the lives of our homeless population.
We’re at a crisis point with homelessness in Arizona. We can either do something about it, or become California.
