Gilbert, Ariz. - With this summer’s record-breaking heat, Gilbert residents and businesses came together to donate 20,537 bottles of water during the 2023 Heat Relief Network drive, almost tripling the amount collected in 2022. Each year the Heat Relief Network aims to prevent heat-related deaths during the hottest months.

In addition to the 2,576 gallons of water collected, Gilbert was able to activate respite centers throughout the summer to provide the unsheltered or residents who were experiencing issues with their air-conditioning a place to escape the heat.
A special thank you to our financial donor Felix Construction for sponsoring Takeout Tuesdays at the respite sites, as well as the following partners for their contributions and donations:
- AZCEND: Shuttle services from I-HELP, shower trailer and case management.
- One Small Step – Clothes Cabin: Clean clothing and hats.
- Salvation Army: Cots, cot covers, pillows, snacks, heat relief kits, and lunches.
- Redemption Church - Gilbert, Seville Stake and Stapley Stake: Providing respite locations, lunches, volunteers, and more.
