CHANDLER, Ariz. – Jazz enthusiasts in Chandler can look forward to a month-long celebration of music and culture as Jazz Appreciation Month takes center stage in April. A variety of events, ranging from live performances to family-friendly activities, will be hosted throughout the city, showcasing the vibrant jazz scene in the community.
Kicking off the musical extravaganza is the Chandler Jazz Festival, scheduled from April 4-7, featuring a lineup of both local and national artists. The festival will feature bands performing at various locations in Downtown Chandler, offering attendees a unique and immersive jazz experience. Notable performances will take place at venues such as d’Vine Gourmet, Saba’s Western Wear, and Dr. A.J. Chandler Park West, among others.
Adding to the festivities, the Main Stage at Dr A.J. Chandler Park: Stage Plaza will host a lineup of talented musicians on Saturday, April 6, including the Nash Vocal Jazz Ensemble, Brandon Sanders Quartet, Cocomama, and The Power Trio.
Attendees are encouraged to explore the culinary offerings of Downtown Chandler's restaurants and bars, with additional food vendors and non-alcoholic beverages available at the Main Stage. Guests are welcome to bring blankets, lawn chairs, and snacks for a cozy outdoor concert experience.
Throughout the month, Jazz on the Move will bring live music to various neighborhoods in Chandler, providing residents with the opportunity to enjoy jazz performances in a community setting. Additionally, the Chandler Museum will extend its hours on select evenings to accommodate visitors interested in exploring jazz-themed exhibitions and activities.
Young talents will also have their moment to shine during the Young Artist Jazz Showcase concert series, featuring performances by high school musicians at Dr. A.J. Chandler Park West. The series aims to showcase the next generation of jazz artists and provide them with a platform to share their musical talents.
For jazz enthusiasts of all ages, Chandler Public Library will host a range of events tailored to different age groups, from preschoolers to adults. From jazz movie sing-a-longs to interactive storytelling sessions, the library locations will be abuzz with jazz-themed activities throughout the month.
