Congressman Andy Biggs (R-AZ) has introduced the Modernizing Retrospective Regulatory Review Act, a piece of legislation aimed at reducing overregulation through the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology. The bill seeks to enable federal agencies to efficiently review regulations that may be outdated, redundant, or contain errors by leveraging AI tools.

In a statement, Congressman Biggs emphasized the need for American businesses to thrive without burdensome regulations, stating, "American businesses must be given the opportunity to thrive without overbearing, costly, contradictory, and duplicative regulations mandated by the DC Swamp." He also highlighted the negative impact of federal overregulation on the U.S. economy, pointing out that there is a lack of manpower and technology to effectively manage the ever-increasing number of regulations.

Biggs expressed confidence in the potential of AI technology to address these challenges, stating, "AI technology is an effective tool that can save taxpayer dollars, benefit American business owners, and promote economic growth."

The legislation introduced by Congressman Biggs aims to combat the adverse effects of regulatory accumulation, which has been estimated to have cost the U.S. economy trillions of dollars over the years. By guiding agencies to utilize AI for regulatory reviews and implementing measures to facilitate retrospective assessments, the bill seeks to streamline the regulatory process and support economic growth.

For more information on the legislation, it can be accessed on the official website.
