The Mesa Police Department will conduct DUI enforcement activities this weekend. The MPD Traffic Unit will continue its support of the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety (GOHS) Memorial Day Weekend DUI Task Force, beginning Friday, May 24th until Monday, May 27th. Emphasized hours will take place each night from 4 pm until 2 am.

The annual Memorial Day Weekend DUI Task Force is a local enforcement activity whose mission is to remove impaired drivers from the roads. The goal is to decrease the number of vehicle collisions related to impaired driving, creating safer streets throughout the valley.

The Mesa Police Department encourages everyone to enjoy the holiday weekend responsibly and designate a sober driver. "Please report reckless, unsafe, or suspected DUI driving to your local law enforcement," said a representative from the department. The Mesa Police Department non-emergency line is 480-644-2211.
