The City of Chandler is organizing a series of public workshops this fall to discuss the new Downtown Region Area Plan and gather feedback from community stakeholders. This update aims to explore and define the changes in the downtown area while planning for its future development. The plan seeks to create a community-built vision that will guide Chandler’s downtown growth more accurately and holistically.

The August workshops, titled “Visioning: Help Shape Chandler’s Downtown Region,” will be held at the Downtown Chandler Library, 22 S. Delaware St., Copper Room. During these sessions, staff will provide an overview of the update before dividing into groups to gather input and answer targeted questions from city staff and project consultants.

For those unable to attend in person, additional outreach meetings are scheduled for September 7 and 10, as well as November 15 and 16. Further details on these workshop themes will be provided in the coming weeks. Residents and stakeholders are also encouraged to take an online questionnaire available at Downtown Region Update.

This updated Downtown Region Area Plan will integrate two existing area plans: the South Arizona Avenue Plan, adopted in 2006 and amended in 2008; and the Chandler Redevelopment Element, adopted in 1995.
