Friends of Chandler Public Library has announced an investment of $240,000 to support the Chandler Public Library (CPL) for the 2024-2025 fiscal year.

The Friends of Chandler Public Library is a nonprofit organization that supports diverse and engaging programming at the four Chandler library locations. Programs within the library focus on creating connections among residents and providing access to affordable resources to read, learn, and succeed. Support comes from donor donations, corporate sponsorships, and used book sales.

Tara Anglin, community engagement program manager at the Chandler Public Library, expressed enthusiasm for the upcoming year. “The Friends have committed a very generous amount to support ongoing programming at Chandler libraries. This gift will empower librarians and staff to continue providing engaging and innovative initiatives that enhance the quality of life, and advance learning opportunities to community residents.”

The Friends' gift will improve a variety of on-site programs, services, digital resources, and library outreach initiatives. The supported programs include adult literacy classes, early childhood reading programs, the Makery, the “Our Stories” speaker series, teen volunteer recognition, and the Teen Advisory Council. New this year, the gift will subsidize LinkedIn Learning, an educational digital resource available to Chandler Public Library cardholders for free.

As part of the annual gift, the Friends have designated $135,000 in funding toward a mobile Chandler Public Library vehicle set for delivery in 2025. This vehicle will act as the fifth branch of the Chandler Public Library by delivering programs and circulation materials.

As National Nonprofit Day nears on August 17th, community members may support Friends of the Library by purchasing used books at Downtown or Sunset branches. Online donations are accepted year-round at Friends of Chandler Public Library.
