This week, Congressman Andy Biggs (R-AZ) sent a letter to Jessica Aber, the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, concerning the release of foreign nationals exhibiting potential terrorist activity.
Hasan Yousef Hamdan and Mohammad Khair Dabous, Jordanian nationals illegally present in the United States, were arrested and placed in U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) custody after attempting to breach Marine Corps Base Quantico in early May. The pair were allowed to post bail and subsequently released from federal prison, despite one individual reportedly being flagged on the terror watch list.
Congressman Biggs demands answers from U.S. Attorney Aber regarding the reasoning behind their release.
“The actions of this administration prove that it values the desires of illegal aliens over the safety of American citizens,” said Congressman Biggs.
“It is unthinkable that illegal aliens who attempted to gain access to a secure U.S. military facility would be released on bail, but the radical Biden-Harris regime has once again disregarded existing immigration law in favor of the comfort of foreign nationals."
“Illegal aliens–especially those who commit further crimes and who are being monitored for terrorism ties–must be detained and held accountable. I’m thankful for the support from my colleagues, and I look forward to timely answers from U.S. Attorney Aber.”
Cosigners of the letter include Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX), Rep. Andy Ogles (R-TN), Rep. Jeff Duncan (R-SC), Rep. Eric Burlison (R-MO), Rep. Eli Crane (R-AZ), Rep. Barry Moore (R-AL), Rep.
