Mesa Public Schools has received a 'B' grade in the latest A-F Letter Grade report from the Arizona Department of Education. The district highlights its commitment to ensuring that every student is known by name, served according to their strengths and needs, and graduates prepared for college, career, and community.

The report shows that 27 schools within the district achieved an 'A' grade, while 24 schools earned a 'B' grade. There have been notable improvements this year, including increased average growth points in English Language Arts and Math. Additionally, English language learners are mastering the English language at faster rates. All high schools either maintained or improved their scores on the College and Career Readiness Index. Furthermore, chronic absenteeism decreased on average across schools, contributing to several schools improving their letter grades.

The Arizona Department of Education uses standardized assessments for students in grades 3-11 to evaluate performance based on academic growth from year to year, proficiency in English language arts, math and science standards, as well as proficiency and growth among English language learners. These factors contribute to school and district letter grades as they indicate whether elementary students are ready for high school success and if high school students are prepared for college and careers.

Mesa Public Schools expressed gratitude towards educators for enhancing student outcomes and acknowledged parents for supporting their children's educational journeys.
