On Friday, November 8th, Franklin Accelerated Academy's Downtown Campus plans to honor veterans within the community. Principal Merritt invites families to recognize their veteran friends or family members during an assembly by submitting a form before Wednesday, November 6th. The event is open to all Franklin families and will involve students and the student council.

In other news, the school continues its T-shirt sale until Friday, November 1st. Spirit shirts for the Franklin Downtown Campus are priced at $16 each and can be purchased online or in person at the office. Payment is required before ordering. These shirts are optional but encouraged for participation in Friday Spirit Days.

The first classroom party of the year is scheduled for Friday, October 25th. Parents are thanked in advance for their support and are invited to volunteer by contacting their child's teacher beforehand. The school requests that siblings not attend these parties.

Additionally, parents are encouraged to review the October Title 1 Newsletter titled "Helping Children Learn: Tips Families Can Use to Help Children Do Better in School." This newsletter offers guidance on supporting children's reading habits, math skills at home, managing procrastination, and assisting shy children in making friends.

Upcoming events include the Battle of the Books on Thursday, October 24th; Fall Classroom Parties on Friday, October 25th; and several activities on Friday, November 1st including Sports Spirit Day and early release due to the end of grading period.
