Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. has officially opened its latest Customer Support service center at Mesa Gateway Airport in Mesa, Arizona. The event was marked by a ceremonial ribbon-cutting attended by state and local dignitaries, community partners, and Gulfstream leaders and employees.
The company invested over $130 million in the 225,000-square-foot maintenance, repair, and overhaul facility, which was initially announced in 2021. Before the completion of the Mesa Service Center, Gulfstream began offering services in 2022 with additional hangar space added in fall 2023. The center can accommodate up to 13 large-cabin Gulfstream aircraft simultaneously and supports maintenance and avionics services for all Gulfstream models. This complements the existing Mesa west campus that holds up to 10 large- and mid-cabin aircraft.
Mark Burns, president of Gulfstream, stated: "The opening of Gulfstreams new Mesa Service Center aligns with our strategic vision to provide the industry's most modern service network, sustainably designed to serve our customers where and when they need us." He also emphasized the company's investment in workforce development: "Thanks to the investments we've made in workforce development and on-the-job training, our Mesa team is well prepared to offer customers based in the Western United States and those traveling through the region the same high-quality service and safety measures that they have experienced across our worldwide network."
Gulfstream's operations in Mesa have already created over 250 jobs with an additional 100 expected this year. To support future workforce development, Gulfstream has partnered with local educational institutions for training programs including apprenticeships and internships.
The new service center aims to achieve U.S. Green Building Council Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Silver certification later this year. It was designed for enhanced environmental efficiency using recycled materials and solutions to reduce power consumption. The campus includes an on-site fuel farm with a tank dedicated to sustainable aviation fuel blends.
Gulfstream Customer Support's network also features facilities in Van Nuys, California; Appleton, Wisconsin; Fort Worth, Texas; Palm Beach, Florida; Farnborough, England; along with Savannah Service Center East.
