The Flinn Foundation has announced that 78 students from Arizona have been selected as Semifinalists for the prestigious Flinn Scholarship. This scholarship, valued at over $135,000, offers a comprehensive package covering tuition, housing, meals, and at least two study abroad opportunities in collaboration with Arizona State University, Northern Arizona University, or the University of Arizona.

The selection of the 2025 Semifinalists was based on criteria including academic performance, leadership and service contributions, and personal attributes. These candidates were chosen from more than 1,100 applications submitted in October 2024. Those who do not advance to become Flinn Scholars will still receive a $15,000 annual scholarship if they opt to attend one of the state's public universities.

Among the Semifinalists are three students from GPS schools: Evelyn Frost from Campo Verde High School; Aidan Feirstein and Rati Tabatadze, both from Gilbert Classical Academy.

The next phase involves virtual interviews scheduled for January 22 and 23. Approximately half of these students will proceed as Finalists to participate in in-person interviews at the Flinn Foundation headquarters in March. The Selection Committee will then choose 20 winners by late April.
