Schools like Campo Verde High School (CVHS) are actively engaging with their feeder junior high schools to promote Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs. These programs, including AgriScience, Bioscience, Corporate Academy, Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (R.O.T.C.), and Sports Medicine, offer eighth graders hands-on activities to inspire them as they prepare for high school.

Campo Verde High School's exclusive Bioscience program introduces students to medical field opportunities through a four-year course pathway. Students gain real-world experience in math, science, and the human body. During a visit to South Valley Junior High, Bioscience students set up demonstration booths featuring activities such as brain and heart dissection and CPR presentations.

Chloe Bryant, a senior at Campo Verde High School and president of the Biomed Club, shared her journey: “I found out about Bioscience from here actually. My first ever interaction with Biomed was when I was a student at South Valley and I came to this same presentation.” She emphasized the program's role in preparing her for college and medical school.

Bryant and her peers have benefited from certifications, industry tours, meetings with professionals, and shadowing programs through the Bioscience CTE program. Other CTE offerings at Campo Verde include AgriScience demonstrations on welding and livestock, Corporate Academy business skills sessions, Sports Medicine pathways for athletic training careers, and R.O.T.C.'s leadership development focus.

By visiting feeder schools like South Valley Junior High, CVHS students help raise awareness of career readiness opportunities available in high school. Gilbert Public Schools offers over 22 different CTE pathways across its five comprehensive high schools. For more information on these courses, visit GilbertSchools.net/CTE.
