Rep. Greg Stanton, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress representing Arizona's 4th district since 2019, recently shared several updates on social media regarding his involvement in various community and international issues.
On February 15, 2025, Rep. Stanton highlighted a local initiative called "Valentines for Veterans," where children throughout Arizona's 4th district wrote Valentine's Day cards to veterans and active-duty servicemembers overseas. He shared this initiative via a tweet, stating: "Valentines for Veterans—kids throughout #AZ04 wrote Valentine’s Day cards to veterans in our community and active-duty servicemembers overseas. Later that day, he expressed relief over the release of American-Israeli hostages by Hamas. On February 15, he tweeted: "Welcome news of the release of American-Israeli Sagui Dekel Chen, Iair Horn, and Alexander Troufanov from Hamas’ captivity—an encouraging sign that the ceasefire holds. But the work isn’t done. Every hostage must come home."
The following day, February 16, Rep. Stanton reported a significant development regarding healthcare services for Native American communities in Arizona. He stated that after joining tribal leaders across the U.S., Secretary Kennedy reversed a decision involving mass firings within the Indian Health Service (IHS). In his words: "After I joined tribal leaders from across the U.S. in response to the dangerous mass firing of 850 Indian Health Service doctors, nurses, and dentists, Secretary Kennedy reversed course." This action underscores Stanton's commitment to ensuring healthcare access for Native American communities in Arizona.
