The Chandler Museum will host "Ceangal/Connections," an exhibition celebrating the 15-year relationship between Chandler, Arizona, and its sister city Tullamore, Ireland. The event runs from March 15 to July 20. This collaborative exhibition brings together artists and writers from both cities to reflect on their cultural exchange.
The exhibition includes visual art, photography, writing, and film that explore landscapes, landmarks, and shared experiences of Chandler and Tullamore. Featured artists include Laurie Fagen (fiber artist), Devon Hancock (filmmaker), Lynne Hartke (writer) from Chandler; Siobhan McCormack (painter), Paul Moore (photographer), Geraldine O'Neill (writer), Evin O'Toole (filmmaker) from Tullamore; and Robert Rice (photographer) from Chandler.
Laurie Fagen commented on the exhibit's significance: "We're very excited to see the ‘Ceangal/Connections’ art exhibition come full circle at the Chandler Museum after our premiere at the Esker Arts Center in Tullamore, Ireland last summer." She highlighted how it showcases similarities and differences between the two cities.
Visitors can attend several related programs including an opening reception on March 14, History Bites on June 3, and In the Exhibits on June 8. Admission is free. More details are available online or by contacting Rebecca Vega at the museum.
