Registration for Mesa's summer camp and recreation programs is set to start soon, as announced by Mesa Parks and Recreation. Beginning Monday, April 7, at 8 a.m., Mesa residents will have the chance to sign up. Non-residents will be able to register starting April 14. Various activities are available for all age groups, from children to adults.
The programs include adult sports such as volleyball, softball, tennis, pickleball, and the 'Recess for Adults,' where participants can try a new sport or game each week. Youth activities cover tennis, summer sports camps, archery clinics, multi-sport playball, gymnastics, and ice skating. Teens can engage in pickleball, tennis camps and tournaments, Summer Thriller Thursdays at Red Mountain Center, and STEM activities.
Adaptive recreation options, including summer camps, rock climbing, bulldog fitness, and recreational bowling, are available for individuals with developmental disabilities aged six and up.
Mesa Aquatics offers numerous water-related activities, including private swim lessons, swimming classes, aquatic sports teams, and Dive-In Movies. Programs in classical dance, babysitting and child safety, yoga, tai chi, and Dungeons & Dragons are also on offer. Details of these programs can be found in the summer PLAYBOOK Magazine.
Registration can be completed online through the ACTIVENET Registration System, via email at ParksRecInfo@MesaAZ.gov, by phone at 480-644-PLAY (7529), or in person at the Mesa Parks and Recreation office, located at 708 W. Baseline Road. Office hours are Monday through Thursday, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Registration forms are available in English and Spanish, and some residents may benefit from the MRS Discount, providing 50% off youth and adaptive programs. The summer pool season in Mesa starts on May 24, and pool passes will be available at discounted prices on April 7. These passes allow unlimited entry to all City of Mesa pools. A family pass is priced at $150, with an option to add a family member for an additional $25. Individual passes cost $44. Prices increase on May 14 to $225 for family passes, $30 for the additional member, and $56 for individual passes. Pool passes can be purchased online or at the Mesa Parks and Recreation Office.
