The City of Tempe reported that residents are participating in giving feedback on proposed budget cuts.
Residents are invited to take part in a survey from July 28 to Tuesday, Aug. 4 in which they can chime in on reductions to the Performing Arts and Highway User Revenue Fund.
The proposed cuts in the Performing Arts Fund are 14% of the budget, which total $953,166.
On the other hand, the HURF Fund makes up the “maintenance of streets and sidewalks, pavement marking and striping, traffic signals, street lighting and street signs,” Tempe’s government website states.
The proposed cuts to this fund are 12% of the budget, which total $1.36 million.
Additionally, the Work Study Session on Thursday, Aug. 20 will be when the city council will propose reductions in the two funds and they will seek to finalize $14 million in reductions that were identified before in the General Fund for the City of Tempe.
