City of Chandler accepts $40,000 in police safety equipment from Brnovich

The Chandler City Council had a busy week, taking action on 31 agenda items Sept. 17.

 Meeting highlights included:

  • Approved a resolution involving a web portal that residents and businesses can use to learn about, apply, pay for and obtain an alarm permit.
  • Approved a one-year agreement with Municipal Emergency Services, Inc., for Chandler Fire Department uniforms, fire turnouts and personal protective equipment.
  • Authorized the acceptance of Police Safety Equipment funding from the Office of Arizona Attorney General in the amount of $40,000.

 In a study session on Sept. 14, the council honored several employees for their years of service to the City of Chandler, including: Judi Johnson, Adan Clemente, Fei Peng and Terri Fitzhugh.

Additionally, the council honored the 2020 Chandler Employees of the Year, as selected by their peers. They are: Sue Van Horne, Peter Bugg, Terri Fitzhugh, Aaron Wilson, Courtney Randolph, Daniel St. Jean, Kellie Evans, Janet Northrup, Ammena Bruno, Martiana Byrd, Heather Callis and Zaina Torres,Danny Carter and Bhavika Bhaktar..

The next meetings of the city council will be a regular meeting and study session at 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 12.
