Don't wait: More city, school vaccine events added to protect our community

Vaccination

City of Tempe issued the following announcement on Aug. 26.

Seven free COVID-19 vaccine and rapid testing events are available through Sept. 2 as part of the city's all-out push to get more eligible people vaccinated. Community members can choose any event that fits their schedule, including weekday, weekend, early morning and evening clinics. Open to those ages 12 and older; no registration or insurance required.

Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer and Moderna vaccines will be available at all events, except for today's event at St. Margaret's Church. The Pfizer vaccine received full approval this week by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The events are being offered by the City of Tempe, Tempe Elementary School District and other community partners.

COVID cases across the country —particularly those linked to the highly contagious Delta variant – are increasing and unvaccinated people are at highest risk of hospitalization and death. Tempe is working with community partners to focus outreach and vaccination efforts on local areas with low vaccination rates.
