Gilbert, Ariz. - This March, the Gilbert Town Council is holding a public hearing to review and discuss an update to system development fees charged by the Town for public services like police, fire, parks and recreation, traffic signals, roads and intersections, water, and wastewater.
System development fees are collected to offset the cost of capital improvements made to support the needs of growth. The accurate assessment of these fees is critical to the financial sustainability of the Town's capital plan. It safeguards existing taxpayers from unduly subsidizing the cost of growth, while ensuring developers pay no more than their fair share.
The public hearing will take place at 6:30 PM on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, during the regularly scheduled Town Council meeting. The hearing will be held inside Council Chambers at 50 E Civic Center Drive.
Council will vote on whether to approve the proposed update at their scheduled meeting on Tuesday, April 16, 2024.
A copy of the adopted land use assumptions, infrastructure improvements plan, and proposed system development fees is available on the Town’s website.
