Congressman Andy Biggs (R-AZ) has criticized the Biden Administration for abstaining from the United Nations Security Council’s vote on an immediate ceasefire in the Israel-Hamas conflict. In a letter to President Joe Biden, Biggs expressed his disappointment, stating, “Israel is one of America’s strongest allies, and we have made clear our support of its right to defend itself against the terror group Hamas.”
Biggs further emphasized that an immediate ceasefire would only give Hamas the opportunity to regroup and launch another assault on Israel. He condemned the Administration's decision, calling it "shameful" and urged for a reaffirmation of the United States' commitment to supporting Israel on the global stage.
The letter to President Biden was cosigned by several other Republican lawmakers, including Rep. Andy Ogles (R-TN), Rep. Eli Crane (R-AZ), Rep. Alex Mooney (R-WV), and others. The full list of cosigners can be found in the letter available for reading.
The Washington Examiner also covered the contents of the letter, highlighting the strong stance taken by Congressman Biggs and his colleagues in condemning the Administration's stance on the UNSC resolution regarding the Gaza ceasefire.
