Mayor Kevin Hartke of Chandler, Arizona, has called for a community listening session to address teen violence and behavioral health in the area. The event is scheduled for Monday, April 29, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Chandler Nature Center.
Chandler Police will provide an update on the issue from a public safety perspective during the session. Dr. Paula McCall, president of Semicolon Society, will also deliver an informative presentation, highlighting resources and additional education on the topic.
In a statement, Mayor Hartke encouraged the public to participate in the event, saying, "We need to come together as a community to address these important issues affecting our teens."
After the presentations, attendees will have the opportunity to engage in breakout sessions to further discuss the topics in a more intimate setting. While online registration is encouraged, walk-ins will also be welcome at the Chandler Listening Session.
The event aims to provide a platform for open dialogue and collaboration among community members, law enforcement, and mental health professionals to address the challenges of teen violence and behavioral health in Chandler.
