Chandler, Ariz. – Chandler City Council has awarded a construction agreement for improvements at Brooks Crossing Park. At the City Council meeting on June 13, a job order master agreement was awarded to DNG Construction, LLC in an amount not to exceed $1,987,588.

Originally developed in 1986, Brooks Crossing Park is an 8.1-acre neighborhood park located at 1345 W. Calle del Norte. It primarily serves the residents living in the square mile bordered by Warner, Alma School, Ray and Dobson roads. Existing amenities include a basketball court, playground, lighted walking paths, sand volleyball court and open space.

As with all park development projects, neighborhood input was used to guide the improvements. Community surveys and two virtual meetings were held in May and August 2022 to understand how nearby residents use the park and what improvements they would like to see. Community feedback concluded that the residents who use this park preferred that the existing sand volleyball court be removed and replaced with a lighted pickleball court.

The approved agreement will include the following improvements to the park: converting the lighting from high pressure sodium to LED lighting; replacement of play equipment; additional shade structures; exercise stations; site furnishings; a single pickleball court; ADA-compliant concrete walkways; and landscape and irrigation renovations.
