The Chandler City Council has approved the city's 2024-25 Budget and the 2025-2034 Capital Improvement Program (CIP), which will become effective on July 1, 2024. The budget totals $1.63 billion across all operating and capital funds. This figure includes a $752.6 million operating budget for department expenses, encompassing equipment, technology and vehicle replacements, debt service for municipal bonds, budget contingencies, and financial reserves. It also incorporates $876.5 million in capital improvements, providing $238.9 million in new appropriation and $637.6 million for ongoing capital projects.

The City Council is set to vote on adopting the final Property Tax Levy during their meeting on June 27 at 6 p.m., located in the City Council Chambers at 88 E. Chicago St.

Many services provided to Chandler residents are financed through the General Fund, including police and fire services, libraries, maintenance of city streets, parks, and other infrastructure. General Fund revenues primarily derive from local city sales tax and state-shared revenues.

Additional services are funded through separate self-supporting Enterprise or Utility Funds covering Water, Wastewater, Airport, and Solid Waste services. These funds come from fees paid by users of these services. Other Special Revenue and Capital Project funds support various services and the capital program with revenues sourced from the State of Arizona, grants, system development fees, and bonds.
