Ken Maxwell, a Mesa resident and member of St. Timothy's parish, said the border issue is the state's top concern, criticizing the Biden administration's handling of immigration and calling for stronger state action.
“The number one state issue is our border. Too many illegals are being let in under Vice President Harris,” Maxwell said. “The Biden administration does not have the will or intelligence, or courage to close the border. The crime, personal harm, lack of respect for our law, expense, huge amounts of drugs and human trafficking, the influx of criminals and terrorists are all damaging our country and we will suffer from Biden's open border for many years to come. Since the federal government is not fulfilling its responsibility to protect our country, our weak governor should put on her 'Big Girl' outfit and follow the Texas leadership and CLOSE OUR SOUTHERN BORDER.”
Under Vice President Kamala Harris’ watch, migrant crossings have reached an all time high; with 250,000 migrants crossing the southern border in December of 2023. The previous record was 224,000 in May of 2022, also under the Biden-Harris Administration.
Border Patrol Chief Jason Owens reported that Harris has not contacted him since his appointment in July 2023. Further, Retired Border Patrol Chief Raul Ortiz claims he never spoke to Harris during his entire appointment as Border Patrol Chief from August 2021 through June 2023.
Harris only made one trip to the border in June of 2021. During this trip, “federal agents on the front lines were instructed to completely sanitize the area to hide the true severity of the crisis from cameras.” Since then, Harris has never made an appearance anywhere near the Southern border.
Since March of 2021, people have been referring to Harris as the “border czar” after President Biden appointed her to oversee the Biden Administration’s efforts at our southern border.
“I’ve asked her, the VP, today, because she’s the most qualified person to do it, to lead our efforts with Mexico and the northern triangle … in stemming the migration to our southern border,” stated Biden, who sat beside Kamala Harris, both wearing masks.
Now that Vice President Harris has been endorsed by President Biden and other political leaders within the democratic party to be the presidential candidate, liberal news sources have attempted to claim that Harris never was the “border czar.”
Kamala Harris, the first female Vice President, has continuously struggled to keep the border crisis at bay during her term. Before being elected as Vice President, Harris served as the District Attorney of San Francisco, the Attorney General of California, and as a U.S. Senator from California.
