Vice Mayor OD Harris has been appointed Chair of the Valley Metro Regional Public Transportation Authority (RPTA) Board of Directors, effective through June 2025. The 19-member board, which includes representatives from various cities, towns, and Maricopa County, is responsible for guiding and setting policy for the regional transportation agency. Valley Metro RPTA provides bus, paratransit, and vanpool services in the metropolitan Phoenix area.
Harris has been representing Chandler on both the Valley Metro RPTA Board of Directors and the Valley Metro Rail Board of Directors since January 2023.
“Chandler’s quality of life and economic development have been greatly enhanced by long-ranging planning and investments in transportation,” said Vice Mayor Harris. “This appointment is a great opportunity to work with my colleagues in the region to advance transit planning and services for our communities.”
