Nucleus RadioPharma has announced plans to establish a new manufacturing facility in southeast Mesa, expected to be operational by mid-2026. The 53,000-square-foot site will generate 50 skilled jobs, addressing the current shortage of high-quality development and manufacturing space in the theranostic market. This facility aims to support the production of radiopharmaceutical treatments used in late-stage clinical trials and those nearing regulatory approval.
The company also plans to build a facility in Philadelphia, which will bring their total capacity across both sites to over 100,000 square feet. These developments align with Nucleus RadioPharma's strategy to create a nationwide network capable of meeting the growing demand for theranostics in the U.S., complementing their Rochester, MN site set to open in early 2025.
Charles S. Conroy, CEO of Nucleus RadioPharma, emphasized the importance of making theranostic radiopharmaceuticals accessible: "To reach their full potential as treatments for millions of patients who have otherwise limited options, it's vital that theranostic radiopharmaceuticals are available in places close to the people who need them."
Sandra Watson, President and CEO of the Arizona Commerce Authority, highlighted Arizona's thriving bioscience industry: "Nucleus RadioPharma's new manufacturing facility highlights Arizona's thriving bioscience industry that's developing cutting-edge innovations to improve people's lives."
Mesa Mayor John Giles welcomed the investment: "Their investment brings dozens of well-paying jobs to our city, boosting our local economy and enhancing our reputation as a hub for innovation."
Mesa Councilmember Scott Somers expressed personal resonance with the announcement due to cancer's impact on his family: "Nucleus RadioPharmas presence in Mesa isnt just about economic growth-its about hope."
