Stevenson Elementary spotlighted by Mesa Public Schools for outstanding contributions

Mesa Public Schools recently highlighted Stevenson Elementary as the Spotlight School at their November 12 board meeting. Principal Kelsey Christofferson shared remarks about three individuals who have made significant contributions to the school community.

The first honoree, Kiara Castelan Santiago, was recognized as an exceptional student. Principal Christofferson praised her for her dedication to kindness and leadership, stating that she is "someone who makes everyone feel valued and included." Kiara has served on the student council and continues to be a student ambassador, embodying the spirit of a Stevenson Stallion.

Nora Gonzalez was honored as exceptional certified staff. She has deep roots in Mesa Public Schools, having attended several schools in the district before starting her career there. Christofferson described Nora as a dedicated educator and mentor who is committed to creating a positive learning environment.

Becky Nelson was acknowledged as exceptional classified staff. As the Media Center Specialist, she has been part of Mesa Public Schools for 32 years, with three years spent at Stevenson Elementary. Christofferson commended Becky for her ability to create a welcoming space that fosters literacy and supports students' growth.

These recognitions highlight the contributions of individuals who are making a difference at Stevenson Elementary.
