Congratulations to the newly elected Governing Board members Sharon Benson, Lacy Chaffee, and returning board member Courtney Davis. They will begin their four-year term in January 2025, joining current board members Marcie Hutchinson and Rachel Walden.
Current board members Dr. Joe O'Reilly and Kiana Sears chose not to run for re-election. Their terms will expire in December.
The five board members are elected by Mesa voters and serve staggered four-year terms without pay. Among other responsibilities, the Governing Board sets district goals, approves and monitors the district budget, approves curriculum and textbooks, hires and evaluates the Superintendent.
