Throughout the 2024 holiday season, the Mesa Police Department will enhance its efforts to ensure road safety by joining the Governors Office of Highway Safety (GOHS) DUI Holiday Task Force. This initiative is scheduled to run until Wednesday, January 1, 2025, with DUI enforcement primarily taking place between 5 p.m. and 3 a.m. on key event nights.

The annual Holiday DUI Task Force brings together local law enforcement agencies with a common goal: removing alcohol and drug-impaired drivers from roadways to create safer streets across the valley. The Mesa Police Department is dedicated to reducing impaired driving-related collisions, as well as the injuries and fatalities they cause.

"This holiday season, we encourage everyone to celebrate responsibly," said a spokesperson for the Mesa Police Department. "If you plan to drink, ensure you have a designated driver or use a rideshare service."

Residents are urged to report any unsafe or impaired driving immediately to their local law enforcement agency.

"Together, we can make this holiday season safe and enjoyable for all," concluded the spokesperson. "Happy Holidays from the Mesa Police Department!"
