Chandler, Arizona residents have an opportunity to reduce landfill waste by participating in the city's Household Hazardous Waste Giveaway Event. The event is scheduled for Thursday, April 3, from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Recycling-Solid Waste Collection Center located at 955 E. Queen Creek Road.
The initiative allows residents to obtain free items such as automotive fluids, pesticides, household cleaners, tiki torch oil, camping propane tanks, spray paint, varnishes, and stains. These products are typically new or partially used and have been dropped off at the city's Household Hazardous Waste Collection Facility.
Participation is on a first-come, first-served basis with no reservations allowed. Residents can take up to ten items after completing a waiver form. Solid Waste Services will provide bins for transporting the items home.
There is no charge for attending the event; however, attendees must present a photo ID and a utility bill confirming their current Chandler address.
It's important to note that household hazardous waste will not be collected during this event. For disposal of such items, residents should contact Solid Waste Customer Service at 480-782-3510 to schedule an appointment.
