Yavapai County Sheriff's Office issued the following announcement on July 26.
Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office Incident Command Team (ICT), a unit that coordinates operations, planning and logistics in one area, has been on scene at Mingus High School in Cottonwood since early this morning. The ICT is supporting Cottonwood PD, Verde Valley Fire District and other public safety partners to systematically map out search areas, determine where searches have occurred, where they need to go next, which resources are needed and what areas are high priority. This interagency coordination has created a coordinated, organized operation.
YCSO has sent out a SWAT team, two Quick Reaction Force a units, a Special Response Team from the Detention Center, and members from the Detention Recruitment Academy to aid in the search efforts for Faith. Earlier today YCSO Search and Rescue was sent out to search the high risk areas that volunteers and others cannot go. In addition, off-duty deputies have been called in to volunteer in the efforts.
The supplemental manpower is will assist in digging out debris and removing mud from the wash bed to further the search efforts.
In addition to YSCO assets Gila County sent their Swiftwater Team to assist is also on the Verde River, the Verde Valley SWAT has been deployed, Department of Public Safety is on site, Cottonwood Tactical Teams, and the National Guard Blackhawk helicopter, which has been instrumental with its low flight ability and the powerful rotor wash moving tree branches and debris from the ground, will continue to fly throughout the day.
