Mayor Giles hosts holiday show featuring 'The Man Who Killed Santa Claus

Mayor John Giles and the "It’s Always Cool in Mesa" podcast will present a holiday variety show featuring a live retelling of "The Man Who Killed Santa Claus." The event is scheduled for November 29, with performances at 4 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. at the Mesa Arts Center. Special guest singer and songwriter Emma Nissen will also perform.

Tickets for this event are priced at $10 and can be purchased via mesaartscenter.com or by contacting the box office at 480-644-6500 during business hours.

"The holiday season in Mesa is something I look forward to each year, and I love that this evening of great music, storytelling, and entertainment has become a tradition for everyone to enjoy," said Mayor Giles. He added, "The Man Who Killed Santa Claus is a great story, in part, because it’s true! That’s what the podcast is all about—sharing some of the great stories, places, people, and events that are treasured in our city."

The "It’s Always Cool in Mesa" podcast is currently in its fourth season and can be accessed on platforms such as Apple, Google, and Spotify. Previous episodes have included topics like "Mesa Pub Crawl: The Hot New Oxymoron," "Jagger Eaton: Mesa's Skateboarding Olympian," and "Alice Cooper Comes to Town."

Attendees are encouraged to participate in additional activities such as the Merry Main Street tree lighting ceremony at 5 p.m., as well as visiting local downtown eateries before or after the performance. The festive spirit continues throughout the season with ice skating and other holiday events available in Downtown Mesa.

Mesa Arts Center hosts this event. It is Arizona's largest arts center with four theaters, five art galleries, and 14 art studios located downtown. The center aims to inspire through diverse arts experiences.
